Wildlife Park

I have to admit, this was one of my favorite parts of our trip. We took a long train ride out to the Featherdale Wildlife Park to see some Australia's famous wildlife. We didn't know we had to make a transfer, so went about 20 minutes in the wrong direction before we realized what happened, and changed trains in lovely Denistone. It actually looked a lot like Newtown (from the few things I could see from station.)

This baby goat (kid?) was so awesome.

Mary w/ a wombat...
Me, feeding the laziest Kangaroo ever...actually, I kind of think he was really old and blind....he would only eat if you like shoved the food in his face....then he was all about it.

David found a wallaby with a joey, it looks a little creepy. He was so touched by the mother-joey connection he was weeping. He immediately got up and called Mom.

Dave fed this crazy bird, who practically attacked the ice cream cone. David is standing so far away because he ran away like a little girl.

Mary and a kookaburra...

Dave thinks these birds are awesome.

Me, getting a picture with a koala, who proceeded to ruin the moment by pooping.

My photography skills at work...notice the play of light and shadow.

Wallabies

David captured with an ACTUAL SMILE on his face!
This was the closest Dave could get to his only goal for Australia: boxing a kangaroo.
